Gist: Five high school students, all different stereotypes, meet in detention, where they pour their hearts out to each other, and discover how they have a lot more in common than they thought.
If you are looking for any school related movies this one is definitely a must watch. Throughout our school/college life we realise the clear demarcation between the students. It isnt as prominent in India but there does exist a rift. Students thing that they are different but in this situation John Hughes shows us how much in common these five students have eventhough they come from various backgrounds. The five protagonists meet as strangers and leave as friends.
Very beautifully written and also some good acting there by the young actors. They bring the characters of Andrew the Jock (Emilio Estevez), Brian the Nerd (Anthony Michael Hall), Bender the Criminal (Judd Nelson), Claire the Princess (Molly Ringwald), and Allison the Basketcase (Ally Sheedy) to life. You feel an immediate connection to the characters and end up loving the movie.
Andrew: We’re all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it, that’s all.
